We sat down with newcomer to the label; Euphorix_c, to get to know him ahead of his release this week.
1.As a quick introduction for the readers, tell us a little bit about yourself:
Hey everyone, my names Camdon, otherwise known as my artist name Euphoix_c. I'm born and raised in South Africa and have been here my entire life including my entire music career. I've always been around music from a young age due to my grandad who played multiple instruments and performed in a number of bands. Music always fascinated me from a young age and sounds in general were interesting to me. That's why I studied sound engineering after high-school learning all about audio and sound and music technologies from which I obtained my diploma in. I'm currently djing at some places with a residency at a bar and burger joint and continuing my progression into the music career and being and EDM artist.

2. Tell us how you got involved with the music scene? How did you eventually find your way into Music production and Djing?
I started music with simple YouTube tutorials just merely asking the question how is music made in a DAW as opposed to live bands and that's where the deep rabbit hole began. From endless videos about trap music and production across multiple creators to always having a love for EDM and watching the tomorrowland live streams it all built up into just wanting to learn more and be involved in music. This led to getting FL studio where I did not know anything but spent every night messing around and creating the worst trap beats any rapper could ask for.

I eventually learnt more and more and started progressing and releasing beats. This led to wanting to enter the EDM scene and starting tutorials on those productions. As I progressed with production so did my studies allowing me to learn about Abelton and Pro tools and create better songs and apply all the techniques I have learnt. Allowing for the growth over the years to produce EDM and enter the scene. This led to signing up for distribution and eventually pushing out songs I was happy with under multiple platforms, with more confidence and better productions it led into demo submissions and contact with labels allowing my careers growth. The djiing side goes hand in hand with EDM and was also something I wanted to learn.

After high-school I was trained through my boss who runs a rental and dj company this led to some further training and gigs and allowed for residency at a vibey local bar and burger joint. This all stemmed from seeing idols and just loving djs and festivals and wanting to be up there and pursue the music career further that drive just led to wanting to do it and following dreams.

3. Who are your main influences, who or what inspires you when creating music?
My family and friends, they often sit with me when creating songs and give feedback and critique which helps a lot. All campus friends that share the love of music and allow for a platform to share music, ideas and collaborations. Nathan aka Nautica helped me a lot in my scene from admin and profile setups to mixing and feedback he helped me get my foot into the industry. My lecturers were also amazing on campus, willing to help on any project, master songs, create contacts and just help me progress in production and music. Big influences for me is everyone I've been listening to from young. This ranged from Kshmr to r3hab to borgeous to W&W and even the melodic scene from Lane 8, Elderbrook, sultan and Shepard Tchammi to the techno scene with Will Sparks, RESPWN and Charlotte de witte the list continues, and I can keep naming people cause the list doesn't end.

4. As a follow on from that, which newer and upcoming artists are you really feeling right now? Let the readers know about some under appreciated producers:
I think Nautica who is also a South African artist and a friend is really great, doing so many diverse genres and landing some big deals in his career his been a big inspiration. Other artists include Salute, Robosonic, Coastlines, Boston Bun, Cinimin, Kyle Watson, Nomino and Biscits

5. What have you got in store musically for the rest of the year?

My plan is to focus on my productions and continue pushing out music and progressing. I have a few songs lined up and I'm hoping i can continue producing what I like but also progressing in the scene. I want to also elevate my dj skills, and allow the opportunity to hopefully land more opportunities and gigs and continue to use the time I have to release songs and enjoy exploring the techniques and skills that I am learning everyday into creating EDM productions.

6. What aspirations do you have? You got any goals you want to try and reach? These can be music goals or life goals in general.

7. You are a new comer to the label but we love what you sent in! Tell us a little bit about your production process? Favourite synths, plugins, techniques etc.
The song actually came from a final assignment in my EDM course, we had to create a EP in Abelton and perform it live. The idea came from one of my favorite tracks which is a remix from township rebellion on the song Le Jeune Fleuck. I just wanted these industrial sounds and hard bass with dark melodies and ambient vocals. I think LFOs will always be on of my favorite techniques and using the rate knob can allow for very interesting sounds. After I laid down some drums and percussion I added the bass.

I always enjoy having what I call intro drums and drop drums which I use different samples for as I don't like to much repetition in my tracks so I'm always adding variations and sounds. Omnisphere allows for a lot of textures and ambient sounds and a huge variety and of course serum the standard to any EDM track.

Diva is also something I've been loving recently with it's dark patches and plucks and leads I just love that synth. After getting the ambient vocal sample from a friend I started building the intro sections and drop where I focused on the lead, and it sounded retro playful which is what inspired the name it was like being in a void hence playful Dreams was made. With cutoff filters low pass filters, OTT and automation as well as playing with OSC and envelopes the track just started to piece together combing multiple elements and new sounds with drums and rolling baselines eventually just worked on it piece for piece adding in sounds I liked and progressing the track until I could finish up mixing and then mastering. After the assignment was finished, I thought I would just try a label and see what comes and it was picked up and allowed for a good ending to the song as opposed to just being a final project for campus.

8. Apart from music, what else makes you happy?
Gaming, I spend as much time on music as I do gaming. I love games and always have from my ps 1 and will continue to love it. Technology In general is also just a big interest, and I enjoyed learning about how things operate this led to multiple gaming sessions and another hobby of just de stressing and enjoying what other creators make. I also enjoy sports, quality time with friends and family and social events.

9.  Tell People where they can find you online...
People can find me online on most platforms from Instagram to Facebook and Twitter with euphorix_c as the handle although I'm most active on my instagram. I'm looking to develop my LinkedIn aswell and with this being my first beatport release I am looking forward to that aswell and people can find me there now which is great. I Also have a link which will lead to most of my socials.
